Bellator will make its New York debut in style. This week, the company's president, Scott Coker, announced some of the main fights of Bellator 180, and, last Thursday, the organization also released the official poster for the event. It will be the second time the promotion has hosted a pay-per-view in its history. The first time, Bellator 120 generated 100 thousand purchases, a number that should be dispersed by the new edition.

The main attraction will bring the return of Wanderlei Silva to MMA. The Brazilian, former Pride champion, will face Chael Sonnen, with whom he had a rivalry in his final years in the UFC. In the second most important duel of the night, Fedor Emelianenko, who also held a belt in PRIDE and is considered the best heavyweight of all time, faces Matt Mitrione, another former UFC fighter.
In addition, Bellator 180 will also feature at least two title fights. Lightweight champion, the North American Michael chandler faces prodigy Brent Primus, who is undefeated with seven career victories – five of them in Bellator. The Brazilian Douglas lima, owner of the welterweight belt, welcomes Lorenz Larkin, who comes from two consecutive victories and stopped renewing with Ultimate to settle with his new home.
Bellator 180 will take place on June 24th at Madison Square Garden, one of the most traditional venues in the history of combat sports. The arena has witnessed fights by names like Muhammad Ali, and hosted the first UFC in New York City's history, when Conor McGregor knocked out Eddie Alvarez and simultaneously became lightweight and featherweight champion at UFC 205.
