Victim of Alex Poatan's injury at UFC 300 , Jamahal Hill opened up about the sacrifices he made to be fit to face the Brazilian star. On his Instagram profile , the athlete recalled the recovery process from the serious injury that forced him to relinquish his light heavyweight title (up to 93kg) in early 2023.
“The adversity I've had to face over the last nine months would have broken most fighters, but all I know is to keep going. Remember what happened before and I will turn things around again,” wrote Hill, who shared images of the recovery process from his Achilles injury.

After more than a year of inactivity, Jamahal accepted the challenge of sharing the octagon with Poatan. After provoking the champion, the North American had no chance in the confrontation and ended up brutalized in the first round.
Despite the tough setback, Hill ruled out remaining inactive. Days later, the athlete was confirmed as Khalil Rountree 's opponent for a fight at UFC 303.
