Wanderlei Silva does not attend the hearing and the decision on doping leaks is postponed

Brazilian would participate in the meeting at the Nevada Athletic Commission this Thursday (21); new date for the meeting has not been announced

For the second time, a definitive decision by the Nevada Athletic Commission on the episode of the Wanderlei Silva of a surprise drug test before UFC 175 has been postponed. In the first meeting between the Commission and the fighter, in June, it was decided that the opinion would only be defined in a new meeting, scheduled for this Thursday (21). However, the hearing began in Las Vegas (USA) without the fighter's presence and again the outcome of the case was postponed.

As has become customary in hearings involving its main athletes, the UFC made the broadcast of the meeting available in the United States through its digital platform “UFC Fight Pass”. However, the Athletic Commission session began without Wanderlei Silva and was informed by the responsible commissioner that the Brazilian would not attend and that the entity had agreed to postpone the discussion of the agenda. A new date for the meeting, however, was not revealed.

In May, Wanderlei Silva was excluded from the fight against Chael Sonnen at UFC 175 for refusing to take a surprise drug test administered by the NSAC. In his first meeting with the regulatory body, Wanderlei admitted that he had used diuretics to minimize the swelling of his hand, injured during the fight with Sonnen on TUF Brasil 3. Despite the confession, the Brazilian filed a motion requesting the withdrawal of any legal sanction that may be applied.

At 38, Wanderlei Silva He has a professional record of 35 wins, 12 losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight. The former PRIDE champion hasn't fought since March 2013, when he beat American Brian Stann in the main fight of UFC Japan.
