Ben Askren will make his Ultimate debut against Robbie Lawler at UFC 235, March 2, in Las Vegas (USA). Even so, the former One Championship welterweight champion is already thinking about his future in the new organization. Through his social network, the fighter asked for a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title of the new category up to 74,8 and promised to give the Russian a 'beating'.
“I just heard what Khabib said. He will learn the 'levels' when he can't get away from me and I will beat him up. I want to fight him for the belt (category up to 74,8) in October or November”, wrote Askren.
just heard what @TeamKhabib said, he will find his levels when he can't get off his back and I am big brothering him. Will fight him@for 165lb title in October/November of this year.

Ben's provocation was in response to the lightweight champion's interview with the North American podcast Submission Radio. Khabib was asked if he would like to face Askren. The Russian stated that first the welterweight would have to fight in the UFC and show his value before he could face him.
“He never fought for the UFC. He still has to fight in the UFC, he has to show his level. Because I saw how someone beat him at ONE. Someone beat him at ONE, he came to the UFC and now he wants to talk. But now everyone talks and promotes themselves. But he still has to fight in the UFC and show his worth,” said Nurmagomedov.
