“He’s one of those guys who proves himself time and time again. He's a champion, inside and outside the cage, beating monsters. Nothing but respect from me. It would be fun to do a champ vs champ cross-promotion… We’ll see if that happens”, said Bader.

The new heavyweight champion surprised everyone with his knockout of the Russian legend in just 35 seconds. However, Ryan explained that the fight-ending move was trained during training camp for Bellator 214.

“And you can ask my team, we practice this shot a lot. I saw the punch was going to do that. You can't see the right hand. It's very difficult for him to notice because it comes on so hard. We felt that he would respect my wrestling a lot. If you look through any of the Bellator Countdown footage and all that kind of stuff, we were practicing this all the time. Faking and throwing that left hook, and we knew he would be there,” explained the double champion.
