The black belt Ronaldo Jacare This Saturday night (3), the journey to reach the Strikefoce middleweight title begins again. After losing the category belt in September 2011, the Brazilian faces the North American Bristol Marunde at the event to be held in Columbus, in the United States. The main attraction of the night will be the beautiful Miesha Tate, the current champion, and Ronda Rousey, who are competing for the women's belt in the bantamweight category.
Jacaré, who has an MMA record of 14 wins and three losses, was the Strikeforce middleweight champion until he was surpassed Luke Rockhold in his last performance. However, the Brazilian will have an additional difficulty tonight: his opponent was changed less than a month before the fight.
Initially, Jacaré's opponent would be the undefeated Derek Bunson, but the American failed his medical exams for wearing contact lenses. On February 22nd, Strikeforce announced that the black belt's opponent will be the American Bristol Marunde.
Marunde has a professional record of 12 wins and six losses and is experiencing a moment in his career. The North American has won four consecutive victories, the last being over Jay Silva, in November 2011.
