After finishing Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229, Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped across the octagon and attacked 'Notorious' teammate Dillon Danis. Afterwards, the Irishman started fighting with the Russian's colleagues who invaded the cage. The Nevada State Athletic Commission did not approve the widespread fight and preventively suspended the athletes for ten days. A hearing with the NSAC will be held on October 24th.

The analyst and former MMA fighter, Brendan Schaub believes the Nevada State Athletic Commission is planning to impose a suspension of one year to one year and six months on Khabib.
“Khabib will be suspended. I've been listening for a year to 18 months. We'll see. Maybe (UFC President Dana White) can work his magic with the Nevada State Commission,” Schaub said on his podcast, Below The Belt.
UFC president Dana White had stated that the lightweight champion should be fined US$250 and given a six-month suspension. With that, Khabib would keep the franchise belt.
“I think they should take $250 from him. [He] absolutely maintains his title. And he's going to be suspended, so maybe you give him a suspension of four to six months,” Dana said in an interview with the North American channel ESPN.
Regardless of Khabib and McGregor's punishments, Schaub is confident there will be a rematch between the arch-rivals.
“I think we will eventually see it [rematch]. Conor versus Khabib is the biggest fight in UFC history. The rematch is even bigger, so of course they will do it”, concluded Brendan.
