After having his license to fight in the USA at risk, the Dutchman alistair overeem underwent a new drug test. The result was announced this Tuesday by the UFC president on Twitter:
Understand the case
The problem had started when the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) did not receive Overeem's previous test results. Under strong suspicion due to the enormous muscular growth achieved over the last four years, the athlete was judged by the NSAC. The ruling granted the Dutchman a provisional license. To be released to fight in the UFC 141, Alistair was supposed to present a new test within 72 hours at the fighter's own expense.
The release announced by White today, which confirmed the duel against Brock Lesnar on the 30th, does not end the former Strikeforce champion's problems. After UFC 141, he will be subjected to two more surprise tests in the first half of 2012. If one of the two confirms the use of illicit substances, Overeem will have his license revoked.
