The Dutch alistair overeem will make his UFC debut in the last event of 2011, in edition number 142. on December 30th, against the giant Brock Lesnar. And the former Strikeforce champion, who has won 10 consecutive times in MMA, has already called the clash between the two heavyweights a “dream fight”.
“I'm very happy with the opportunity to fight Brock,” said Overeem at the conference to promote the duel. “I think it’s a dream fight, not just for me, but for the fans as well,” he added. Alistair also revealed that he does not feel pressured to fight in the UFC, despite recognizing the size of the event. According to the Dutchman, the more he is seen, the better his presentation.
“I don’t really see it as pressure,” Overeem said. ”Of course the UFC is 100 times bigger than Strikeforce. UFC is huge and all eyes are on the event. But I feel good, the more media attention, the more people coming to watch me, the better I perform,” he said. ”Is there pressure in the UFC? Of course there is pressure. The same pressure is on Brock. One of us will take a step up, and one of us will take a step down”, he concluded.
