Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz confirm third fight

The third clash between world MMA legends should take place at the end of this year and will be broadcast on pay-per-view

Former UFC light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz they will fight for the third time at the end of this year for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy MMA. The official date has not yet been announced, but the fight will be broadcast on pay-per-view. The information is from ESPN.

“I am proud to announce that we have signed a deal for the fight between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. This will be huge for sports fans around the world. Ortiz and Liddell are two of the most recognized fighters in MMA history. They are legends in the sport,” said De La Hoya.

According to the president of Golden Boy MMA, the rivalry between athletes has placed the sport in a privileged place. “We are excited to host the next and final chapter of this historic rivalry,” he said.

Chuck Liddell defeated Tito Ortiz in the first two clashes. The first meeting was in November 2004, and the second meeting was in December 2006, 'The Iceman' beat both by knockout.

Chuck Liddell, 48, hasn't fought since June 2010, when he was defeated by Rich Franklin. This loss was Liddell's third knockout loss, as he had also recently been defeated by Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad evans. Chuck Liddell has a record of 29 fights, with 21 wins and eight losses.

Tito Ortiz, 43, last fought in January 2017 at Bellator, where he defeated Chael Sonnen by decision. The fighter has a record of 32 fights, with 19 wins, 12 losses and one draw.
