The third meeting between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell is close to happening. In an interview with the website “Submission Radio” this week, the former UFC light heavyweight champion stated that he is just waiting for the 'Iceman' to sign.

“I recovered faster than I expected, which is great. But I feel good, man, I'm looking forward to it. I'm just waiting for Chuck Liddell's side to sign the contract, do that. So, it’s just a matter of time,” Ortiz explained.

Golden Boy MMA president and retired boxer Oscar De La Hoya is doing everything he can to make the fight happen. It will be the athletes' third clash and the first in the new mixed martial arts event.

Apparently, Ortiz and Liddell will get a good purse from this fight. “I think Chuck is kind of holding back, trying to make more money out of this, which doesn't make sense because this deal is pretty much a cut and dry contract,” Ortiz said.

According to Tito, De La Hoya will keep 40%, Lidell and he will share 30% of the revenue completing the fight. “This fight will happen. It's only a matter of time. Chuck Liddell, friend, stop asking for pennies, man. You're stepping on dollars, looking for pennies. Let’s sign this fight, let’s do it so we can give all the fans 25 years of the UFC,” he concluded.

Tito Ortiz hasn't fought since January 2017 with a victory over Chael Sonnen. The fighter has a record of 32 fights, 19 wins, 12 losses and one draw.
