Flyweight champion Nicco Montaño has been away from the Octagon since December 2017 due to injuries. Even so, it was not out of reach. Valentina Shevchenko which seeks to clash with the North American as quickly as possible. On Thursday (14), the belt holder broke her silence and called out her opponent for a confrontation at UFC 228.

Through her Instagram, Montanõ stated that she is ready to return and would like to return at UFC 228, on September 8th against Valentina Shevchenko.
“Alright, let’s get this show on the road! What do you have on your calendar, September 8th in Vegas, Valentina! Now that I'm finally back in a healthy body, I'm ready to go, it was just a matter of time... share, write down, take a photo”, said Nicco.
