Belfort returned to the UFC in September 2009, but accumulated injuries that kept him away from duels over time. He first walked away from his title shot at UFC 112 when he was replaced by Demian Maia. After Vitor left the duel against Yushin Okami, at UFC 122, when he was replaced by Nate Marquardt.
