Bellator selected two Brazilians for its 170th edition, on January 21st, which will feature a fight between Chael Sonnen e Tito Ortiz. Chinzo Machida, Lyoto's brother, faces Jamar Ocampo; and former TUF Brasil Guilherme Bomba take John Mercurio.
The two fights will be part of the preliminary portion of the event, which is normally broadcast online. Both will make their second fight for Bellator – and both Chinzo and Bomba debuted with victory.

Bellator 170 will feature the duel between Sonnen and Ortiz as its main event. It will be the first MMA fight for the eternal rival of Anderson Silva since November 2013. At that time, the North American lost to Rashad evans at UFC 167.
