At 38 years old, Josh Barnett still has ambitious goals for his MMA career. The North American was excited about the victory over Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night 93, in Hamburg (Germany), last Saturday (3), and left open the possibility of challenging for the organization's heavyweight belt.

Barnett was already the UFC heavyweight champion in 2002. Due to the fact that the belt will be at stake next Saturday (10), at UFC 203, the North American declared that he would accept the opportunity with open arms if it presented itself.
“I'm happy just to be able to perform at my best all the time. At this point in the championship, guys like Andrei and I have already won belts. We have [Alistair] Overeem and other guys out there who have already shown that they are capable of becoming champions. I accept any position they put me in. I'm ready to accept the challenge, and a title fight is always acceptable to us,” said Barnett, in a post-fight press conference. “The most we can control is our performance. It's one thing at a time, and I'm sure a heavyweight title fight could come up in the future. Until then I was worried about fighting Andrei, and I did it very seriously. But now let’s see where we go”, he added.
The current UFC heavyweight champion is Stipe Miocic. The American of Croatian descent will make his first title defense at UFC 203, against alistair overeem.
