Current UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor considers the possibility of moving to the lightweight division and challenging the current division champion, Eddie Alvarez. However, according to Michael Bisping, another Ultimate title holder, the decision would not be wise on the part of the Irishman, who “would be killed” if the duel went ahead.

Bisping, owner of the middleweight belt, believes that Alvarez's style would represent a real nightmare for McGregor. “I think, looking at his last fight, he doesn't want to face Eddie Alvarez at 70 kg. I think Alvarez would kill him, man. He would take him down and destroy him. I don't say that just to be mean. I’m just considering the styles”, analyzed the Englishman, in an interview with his country’s newspaper “Daily Star Sport”.

Despite his opinion, Bisping made it clear he has nothing against the Irishman. “I like Conor. He's incredible, he's done incredible things for the sport. He brought a lot of eyes to the UFC, made a lot of money and is exciting as hell. He brings excitement,” he praised.

McGregor has not yet decided what his next step will be in the UFC – whether he will return to featherweight and defend his title or continue venturing into other categories. Bisping returns to the Octagon on October 8, in Manchester, England, when he makes his first title defense against Dan Henderson.
