Rizin's president, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, raised the possibility of hiring Wanderlei Silva and cast him as the legendary Russian heavyweight's next opponent Fedor Emelianenko. The Brazilian has not yet officially commented on the matter, but he decided to spark the imagination of his fans by publishing an image of a poster of the hypothetical fight.

On his Facebook account, Wand posted the image of the poster and placed only a question mark in the caption, as if he was asking his followers their opinions regarding the fight. And the feedback was largely positive, as several internet users supported the duel and sent messages of encouragement to the Brazilian.

However, it is worth noting that the poster in question does not have an official character, as the art was produced by a fan and features photographs of Wand from his UFC days and Fedor while he was still fighting in the now-defunct Affliction.

Wanderlei was recently released from the contract he still had with the UFC. The Brazilian remains banned by the Nevada Commission for refusing to take a surprise anti-doping test, but, theoretically, he is cleared to fight in Japan.

The veteran fighter was champion of the PRIDE under-93 kg category between 2001 and 2007, while Fedor reigned in the organization's heavyweight division between 2003 and 2007.
