The two faced each other in April 2005, still at the now defunct Japanese PRIDE event. Shogun, considered the underdog, massacred Rampage still in the first round, winning in a few minutes with a technical knockout.

Jackson wants to have another opportunity against the Brazilian, as he said he fought injured in the first meeting between the two. “A lot of people ask me who I want to face next. I think Shogun owes me a rematch. I should have given up on our first fight, but my pride didn't let me. I will never fight hurt again. That defeat still haunts me”, wrote the fighter on his Instagram account.

If your wish is granted, Rampage I would have to wait a few months to face Shogun. This is because the Brazilian already has a fight scheduled for August, when he will face another name he beat a decade ago: Rogério Minotouro. The fight between the Brazilians will be at UFC 190, in Rio de Janeiro.
