Last Monday (29), just two days after the defeat to Yoel romero at UFC Fight Night 70, the manager of Lyoto Machida, Ed Soares, said that the fighter had undergone nose surgery, as a result of the knockout suffered on the night of fights. The information was confirmed this Wednesday (01), but rumors that Lyoto could end his career, especially after an open letter from his mother-in-law asking for retirement, were discarded.

The news was reported by “UFC Tonight”, the organization's official newspaper on North American TV. According to journalist Ariel Helwani, the “Dragão”, who comes from two consecutive defeats, one by submission and the other by knockout, intends to return to action as soon as he recovers from surgery and is physically capable of performing again.
