To this day, no man who has shared the ring or octagon with Chris Weidman managed to come out with the victory over the North American. The current UFC middleweight champion's list of victims includes names like Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort. However, the fighter's next opponent, Luke Rockhold, guarantees that it has the resources to put an end to its invincibility.

Rockhold believes that his fighting characteristics are ideal to break the champion's momentum, as he predicts that he will put pressure on Weidman like no one has been able to do to date. “Everyone succumbs at some point. And there is not a single man in the world who tries harder than me. Nobody can make me succumb. I know I'm going to break it. I believe that I'm too technical on the ground, I'm refined on my feet and I have a lot of weapons”, he analyzed, in an interview with the podcast “It's Time!”, presented by announcer of the UFC, Bruce Buffer.

“At the end of the day, I think the fight will be on the feet, and Weidman won't last long with me. He won't be able to keep up with me for 25 minutes. We've all seen him get tired by the fourth or fifth round. He's tough and usually stands his ground, but I'll maintain a pace and pressure he's not used to. He usually fights guys who run away from him, but I'm not going anywhere. I will punish him for every takedown attempt he makes. I'm going to make that happen and he's going to find himself in trouble. When the fight goes to the ground, he will want to free himself to stay out of danger”, continued the next challenger for the belt.

Rockhold has already been confirmed by the UFC as next to face the champion, although there is no confirmed date or location for the fight.
