At least until further notice, the fight between Brazilian Fábio Maldonado and the former champion Quinton Rampage Jackson, scheduled for UFC 186, on April 25th, is suspended. A New Jersey judge granted an injunction to Bellator, a rival event to Ultimate, which prevented Rampage to fight in Canada thanks to contractual commitments with his former organization.

The information was released by the North American website “MMA Fighting”. Rampage he had managed to leave Bellator in court a few months ago thanks to a clause in his agreement, which guaranteed him this right in the face of inadequate promotion of events or lack of opportunities. Furthermore, the fighter also claimed not to have received a copy of the income from the sale of packages pay-per-view of Bellator 120, of which he would be entitled to a portion. The termination of Rampage, however, was questioned by the organization, which, among other things, filed a lawsuit to annul the contract signed between the athlete and Ultimate, as well as prevent him from performing in the Octagon.
