Announced last February, the UFC's huge and million-dollar anti-doping program will be headed by a big name in the area. The organization announced the man responsible for investigating several important cases of doping in sport, including that of cyclist Lance Armstrong, Jeff Novitzky, as the new “Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance”.

A special agent for the Food and Drug Administration and an expert on the use of steroids in sports for the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Federal Government for years, Jeff also participated in the investigations that dismantled other major doping cases, such as runners Tim Montgomery, Justin Gatlin and Marion Jones, as well as the series of cases known as “The Steroid Era” in North American baseball.
“I am thrilled to join a world-class organization like the UFC that is committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure that all of its athletes compete in a clean sport. I am confident that the UFC will be able to create a new, cutting-edge anti-doping testing program and implement it so that level and sustainable competition is guaranteed for all athletes,” said Novitzky, in an official statement reproduced on the UFC’s official website.
