Chael Sonnen has given an official response to the complaint issued by the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding his recent doping case. Through his lawyer, Jeff Meyer, the former American fighter assured that he will take full responsibility for his actions and that he will collaborate as best he can to resolve the case as quickly as possible.

In a test carried out at the end of May, in preparation for the fight against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 175, Sonnen tested positive for the substances anastrozole and clomiphene; later, for GH, the growth hormone, and erythropoietin. For this reason, he received a formal complaint from the NSAC that could earn him a fine of US$250, in addition to other punishments if he wants to compete again.

Sonnen's lawyer presented the following response to NSAC last Tuesday (8): “Mr. Sonnen does not dispute any of the allegations contained in the complaint. Mr. Sonnen admits his responsibility in his actions and will comply with the commission for the rapid resolution of this case.”

Sonnen could appeal the complaint filed by NSAC until July 17th, but everything indicates that this will not happen. Therefore, the North American's case must be evaluated by the commission at the hearing that will be held on July 17th.
