Gold medalist at the Beijing Olympics, the judoka Satoshi Ishii is the newest hire of the Japanese organization Sengoku. In recent months there were great expectations that the Japanese would sign an agreement with the UFC, an event that held some meetings, but the agreement ended up not happening.
According to the fighter, one of the reasons for choosing Sengoku was the large number of other judo fighters in the organization such as: Kazuhiro Nakamura, Makoto Takimoto and Hidehiko Yoshida.
