Olympic gold medalist in judo, Satoshi Ishii, is the newest recruit of the Japanese organization Sengoku. In recent months there was great expectation that the Japanese athlete would sign a deal with the UFC, an event that held several meetings, but the agreement ultimately fell through.
According to the fighter, one of the reasons for choosing Sengoku was the large number of other judo fighters in the organization such as: Kazuhiro Nakamura, Makoto Takimoto and Hidehiko Yoshida.
