Many fighters look for personal or emotional issues to motivate themselves for their duels in the Octagon. But that's not the case for the next middleweight title challenger. Lyoto Machida. Friend and training partner Anderson Silva, defeated by Chris Weidman Twice, Lyoto dismissed any feelings of a rematch for his part in the fight against the champion at UFC 175.
“Each person has their own career, their way of showing their work. Anderson had his opportunity and now I'm having my opportunity. If revenge doesn't motivate Machida, who was once light heavyweight champion, the pressure to win a new belt does. “There is always pressure and I want to change that pressure into motivation. And the motivation is to bring this belt to Brazil. In an MMA fight, whoever gets the best out of everything, be it wrestling or karate, you will have an advantage. It's very difficult to predict a fight like this. He's already knocked him out and finished him. He proved that he fights well in all areas”, analyzed the Brazilian.
On July 5th, in Las Vegas (USA), Lyoto Machida faces the North American Chris Weidman in a fight valid for the middleweight belt. The fight is the main event of UFC 175. In the co-main fight of the night, Ronda Rousey defends women's bantamweight division belt against challenger Alexis Davis. The main card of the night also features the long-awaited duel between TUF Brasil 3 coaches Wanderlei Silva e Chael Sonnen.
