The opportunity to bounce back after his second consecutive Ultimate defeat quickly knocked on the door of Mauritius Shogun. Shortly after the defeat to Chael Sonnen, the Brazilian was confirmed as James Te Huna's opponent at UFC Fight Night 33. Wanting to erase the bad impression of his last fights, Shogun promised a frank stand-up for the duel on December 6th.

“They offered me and I was available, so I accepted. The timing ended up being perfect for me. I will fight in his country, and it will be an exciting fight. He's a very good boxer, I know his style. It's a fight that fans will want to watch because there will be a lot of striking”, said the Curitiba native, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website.

Asked about the chances of ending his career, especially in the event of another defeat, Shogun was incisive in stating that he is not thinking about hanging up his gloves. “I don't think about it yet. When I stop fighting I’ll start thinking about it, but until now I haven’t thought about it,” he concluded.
