Chael Sonnen gave his opinion on the possibility of a rematch between Jiri Prochazka e Glover Teixeira to happen. The current commentator reveals that he does not understand the champion's challenge for a new meeting with the Brazilian and suggests that he prioritize Jan Blachowicz as being his first opponent for his first defense of the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.).
“Why do you want to fight a 42-year-old man? He said: 'I won Glover Teixeira, he was world champion three weeks ago', but I come back with a question: Why are you, as a young and new champion, calling out a 42-year-old man? Why are you calling someone you just beat? Why not face a fresh blood, who is in first place (in the rankings), like Blachowicz?”, said Sonnen in a video on his official channel.

It does not stop there. Sonnen then cited the fact that the rematch has not yet been scheduled and stated that time is passing against the Brazilian. He also doesn't believe that, despite Prochazka's challenge, the new meeting will get off the ground.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen. (Rematches) are done quickly. Glover's time to shine and impress everyone - including the boss - no longer gets so bright as the weeks go by, it ends up weaker. For Prochazka to say he would like to fight Glover is a difficult situation”, concluded the current commentator.
Jiri Prochazka came close to suffering its first defeat in the last seven years against Glover Teixeira. The Brazilian was winning the fight in the view of the side judges, but the Czech managed an unlikely submission with 28 seconds left in the fight.
