Alexandre Pantoja faces Alex Perez at UFC 277 in July

After recovering from the injury that left him out of competitions since August 2021, Alexandre pantoja has a confirmed date and opponent for his return to the Octagon. The Brazilian flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) faces Alex Perez No. UFC 277, scheduled for July 30th, in Dallas, United States. The information was initially released on the website “Ag. Fight.”

According to information from the North American website “MMA Fighting”, in addition to the fight scheduled against Alex Perez, Alexandre pantoja was also chosen to serve as a reserve for the interim flyweight belt dispute between Brandon Moreno e Kai Kara France, being able to fight for the title if one of the two athletes gets injured or has some other problem.

Third place in the flyweight rankings, Alexandre pantoja has been in the UFC since 2017 and has won two consecutive victories in the organization, the last being a second-round submission over Brandon royval, in August last year.

On the other side, Alex Perez also arrived in the UFC in 2017. The North American is coming off a defeat to the champion Deiveson Figueiredo in November 2020, a result that interrupted a streak of three victories. Originally, Perez was going to face Askar askarov on July 16, but an injury to the Russian forced a change in plans and the duel against Pantoja.

O UFC 277 takes place on July 30th, at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas (United States). The event's main fight is a rematch for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg) between Julianna Pena e Amanda nunes.
