Jon Jones went back on provocations in the face of Chael Sonnen, his rival at UFC 159. After stating that the challenger for the UFC light heavyweight doped throughout his career, the champion regretted it and apologized to his opponent.
Through his Twitter account, Jones expressed regret for the statements. “I had no right to accuse Chael of being a steroid user throughout his career, I apologize. Look what happened…” Jones wrote on the microblog.
The champion's accusations were made on the “UFC Tonight” program, shown on FUEL TV, in the United States, and arose due to the fact that Sonnen was authorized to undergo hormone replacement treatment (TRT) in his fights.
The fight between Jon Jones e Chael Sonnen will be valid for the light heavyweight belt and is the main attraction of UFC 159, an event that takes place on April 27th, in Newark, in the United States.
