More than two years after his last fight, Santiago Ponzinibbio Finally, there is a date to return to the Octagon. Ultimate confirmed, this Monday (21), that the Argentine will face Chinese li jingliang No. UFC Fight Island 7, the first event of 2021, on January 16, in Abu Dhabi. Previously, 'Gente Boa', as Santiago is known, would face muslim salikhov, but the Russian had to leave the event after having symptoms of Covid-19.
At 34 years old, Ponzinibbio has suffered numerous injuries and surgeries in the past and has not fought since November 2018, when he knocked out Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires. He also recently tested positive for coronavirus. With a record of 27 wins and three defeats, the Argentine has a streak of seven consecutive victories.
