Marlon Vera praises Aldo's experience in the round that sealed the Brazilian's victory on points

Rival of José Aldo No. UFC Las Vegas 17, Marlon Vera showed a lot of sportsmanship after the points defeat against the Brazilian last Saturday (19). On his social networks, the Ecuadorian spoke about the confrontation, praised the Brazilian's experience and guaranteed focus to win again for the organization.

“I'm not satisfied at all, but I'm alive and full of energy. I definitely learned a big lesson in round three when I saw the win and was excited. José (Aldo) did what a true veteran does. Very good. I will come back stronger. Thank you everyone for your support and affection”, Vera published, on her account on Instagram.

In the confrontation against the biggest name in UFC featherweight history (up to 65,7kg), Marlon had the opportunity to make a significant leap into the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg). Current number 11 in the group, the Ecuadorian, if he won, would reach close to the top 5 and would be closer to his dream of the belt.

The 'People's Champion', in turn, came under pressure for the confrontation against Vera. Having made his bantamweight debut a year ago, the Brazilian, despite having made two good performances, had not won a single fight in the new division. Faced with a scenario in which Ultimate continues to dismiss athletes with recent negative records, Manaus needed to win to escape the dreaded 'boat'.

The experience, however, spoke louder. Even though he lost the second round, in the judges' opinion, Aldo controlled the fight for two rounds and emerged victorious in the unanimous decision. After the show, José challenged the former champion of the category, TJ Dillashaw.
