If in his reign as light heavyweight champion (93kg) Jon Jones won many victories and also enemies, the same applies to Israel adesanya, number one in the middleweight category (83,9kg). No wonder, the two often exchange insults on social media and, after the completion of the UFC 253, an event held on Saturday (26), in Abu Dhabi, was no different. When knocking out Paulo borrachinha, the Nigerian took advantage of the spotlight to say that he will pursue the North American until he faces him.

Upon learning of another challenge made by his rival, Jones, who gave up the light heavyweight belt to venture into heavyweight (120,2kg), responded categorically. 'Bones' stated that the rival says more than he does and believes that he is, in fact, afraid of a possible clash.

"But what? Have you been in the ring more than 100 times and you're still not ready? You have the advantage of being younger and four times more fighting experience. The truth is that you are already my b***h. You love being undefeated, but you saw what happened to everyone else. Mentioning my name increases your value and you are aware of this. You don't want a real confrontation with me. I'm not just going to stand by and trade blows with you. I've been preparing to face heavyweights. Today, I would literally rip off one of your arms,” Jones posted on Instagram.

It is worth remembering that this rivalry is not new. Since becoming champion in 2019, Israel adesanya challenges Jon Jones and accuses him of running away. In turn, 'Bones' doesn't let his attacks go unanswered and has even agreed to face 'The Last Stylebender', but he backed down because he still didn't consider himself ready.
