Currently in the most coveted position among light heavyweights (up to 93kg.), Jan Blachowicz wants to prove that he didn't parachute onto the throne of the category. After learning of a comment from the group's former champion, Daniel Cormier, who stated that Jon Jones would beat the Pole easily, Blachowicz got angry and tried to challenge DC to the confrontation, but what he heard was a categorical rejection.

Retired since the setback suffered to Stipe Miocic, in August, Cormier, who today only assumes the role of commentator, tried to be elegant with the new champion. On social media, the North American tried to warm up the situation and congratulated the Pole for his achievement in UFC 253, when it shocked the world and knocked out Dominick reyes for the vacant category title.
“No chance, champ. Congratulations on a great victory. You are the man, the king now. You shouldn't worry about what an old retiree is saying. Good job winning the belt”, replied DC.

Understand the case
The 'climate' between Blachowicz and Cormier began when, on an 'ESPN' program, the former champion suggested that Jon Jones he would be able to overcome Jan with certain ease in the octagon. At the time, Daniel also stated that, if he were not retired, he would accept a confrontation against the Pole without any major problems.
“Jones would beat Blachowicz. (Jan) is too slow to win. The thing about Jones that people don't realize is that he has a good chin. You can reach it. I hit him. Many of us get it right. He can absorb hits, man. If Jan Blachowicz is there, and he's too slow, Jones would destroy him. If I was still fighting at 93 (kg) and you said, 'DC, you can fight at Jan Blachowicz'. I would probably face Jan Blachowicz, with all due respect”, said Cormier, at the time.
