With the departure of the Brazilian José Aldo and North American Quinton Rampage Jackson In the UFC Rio 3 fight program, rumors involving replacements for injured fighters began to emerge on the internet. Although, Wanderlei Silva was the first to confirm the veracity of the speculation and revealed that he could appear on the October 13th card.
“The rumor exists and it is strong. But I can't talk and nothing has been confirmed yet. I'm waiting to find out what will really happen. For me it would be an immense pleasure, fighting in Rio is a dream. The audience is awesome,” Wand wrote on his Twitter account.
Speculation coming from North American vehicles involves a possible confrontation between Wand and the North American Chael Sonnen. The fighters even exchanged some provocations over the internet on several occasions, before that the Brazilian even complained about the way in which the controversial Chael provoked his rivals (remember here).
“I think it would be the perfect fight that everyone would like to see. It would make the show very interesting”, analyzed Silva about a possible duel against Sonnen.
