“First of all, boxing represents my past. Boxing was my first love for a long time. For more than 10 years I loved boxing without knowing what MMA was. So, I got into mixed martial arts by opportunity, but I'm still a boxing lover. I think that, at some point, I may end up migrating there to fulfill my dream.” The French-Cameroonian confessed.

The knowledge of Ngannou's enormous strength has already taken on global proportions. All MMA enthusiasts know the athlete's ability to knock out his opponents. In his career within the UFC, the athlete did not knock out his opponent on just one occasion, when he defeated the American Anthony Hamilton by submission in a duel that took place in 2016.

One of Ultimate's commentators, Joe Rogan, upon learning of Francis' desire to take a chance on boxing in the future, became excited about the possibility. For him, Ngannou would do well fighting among the heavyweights and could surprise many with his efficiency.

“Mark my words: if Francis Ngannou decides to switch to boxing, he will knock out some fighters. He knocked out alistair overeem, who is a kickboxing champion. Alistair knocked out Badr Hari, Gokhan Saki. He beat some good guys,” Joe said on his podcast.

Francis debuted in MMA in 2013. The athlete was hired by Ultimatem two years later. Since then, the athlete has had the opportunity to win the company's heavyweight title, but had his chance frustrated after it was annulled by Stipe Miocic, former champion, at UFC 220, in January of last year. After the defeat, the athlete suffered another setback against the giant Darrick Lewis, however, he managed to recover within the category by beating Curtis blaydes e Cain Velazquez.
