Often a victory is capable of changing an entire perspective of work. That's what happened with 'Korean zombie' after a great performance against the Brazilian Renato Moicano at UFC Greenville, last Saturday (22), in the United States. In 12th position in the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg) before the fight, the South Korean was looking for a good result to erase his last performance. However, the good result placed the South Korean with great visibility in the division. In an interview after the event, Chan spoke to the press about future plans.

“I probably want to face the fourth, third, second or first in the rankings”, said the excited athlete. “We talked about it, but we don't want to take a step beyond our reach. I want anyone better ranked than him (Moicano). We are close to the goal”, said the fighter.

The fight against the Brazilian had a special flavor for Zumbi. In his last commitment to the UFC, the athlete suffered a setback that was difficult to conceive. Against the Mexican Yair Rodríguez, in a clash held in November last year, Jung dominated his opponent for five rounds, until, with just one second remaining in the fight, he was surprised by a blow that led to his knockout.

Asked about the feeling of winning again, the athlete said he felt good and that the last defeat was in the past.

“I've forgotten about that (setback), but as a fighter, it definitely helps when you get a good win. It’s better than losing”, reported Zumbi.

The victory over Renato will undoubtedly bring new visibility to the South Korean. The athlete will certainly rise in the category ranking and have the opportunity to face other level athletes. Jeremy Stephens, currently seventh in the category, shortly after the fight, expressed his desire to face Chan. On a social network, the featherweight made the post.

“I'm the next one to face the 'Korean zombie. Come on, Dana White. It's the most exciting fight to have right now. Good job and see you soon,” Jeremy posted.

With the triumph over Moicano, the 32-year-old South Korean achieved his 14th career victory. The athlete has already competed in 19 professional fights and was defeated on five occasions.
