The fight

Facing an opponent in the light heavyweight category, Fedor wasted no time and immediately imposed his strength. With less than 10 seconds he landed a bomb on Sonnen's face and knocked the American down.

The Russian preferred not to enter Chael's guard and gave him space to get up. Afterwards, Emelianenko connected with another left blow and took down Sonnen.

Feeling the Russian's blows, Sonnen attempted a takedown, but Fedor reversed his position and got up. The moment the North American tried to get off the ground, he was hit hard until the central referee stopped the fight and declared a technical knockout.
