This Saturday night (5) was one of the best for Nate diaz. After finalizing the favorite Conor McGregor in the main fight of UFC 196, in Las Vegas (USA), and return to the MMA spotlight once and for all, the North American will take home an extra US$100 as prize for the fight.
Diaz and McGregor made the “Fight of the Night” at UFC 196, so each athlete will receive US$50. Nate will also receive the same amount for “Performance of the Night”, a bonus he received alongside Miesha Tate, which displaced Holly holm to win the women's bantamweight title.
The fight between Diaz and McGregor was indeed electrifying. The Irishman had the advantage in the first round by connecting the best blows, especially his straight lefts that seemed to bother Diaz. In the second round, however, the American turned things around: he found the distance, landed good shots and made McGregor wobble. The Irishman desperately went for the takedown in order to avoid suffering a knockout, but Diaz took advantage of the gap and submitted him with a rear naked choke.
