the defeat of Conor McGregor for Nate diaz at UFC 196 it began to resonate moments after the end of the fight this Saturday (5), in Las Vegas (USA). The former featherweight champion, José Aldo, provoked his latest tormentor and proposed a rematch with the Irishman for UFC 200, in July.
“I’ll wait for you at UFC 200, Conor McGregor. Your cinderella dream ended today. Now there is no way to run away from the rematch”, wrote the Brazilian on his Twitter account, a few minutes after the end of UFC 196.
After beating Aldo and winning the featherweight title (up to 66 kg), McGregor moved up a category to originally face Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title (70 kg) at UFC 196. However, the Brazilian was injured and was replaced by Nate diaz. The new fight took place between welterweights (up to 77 kg).
McGregor punished Diaz's face for a round and a half, which caused a large cut over the American's eye. However, in the second round, Diaz landed good blows on a more tired McGregor, which made the Irishman “wobble” his legs. The Irishman tried to take the fight to the ground, but fell underneath, and was submitted shortly after.
