Israel Adesanya cites USADA and attacks Paulo 'Borrachinha' heavily

Middleweight champion questions Brazilian about the number of anti-doping tests carried out and says that Minas Gerais 'is only brave in a group'

It's too late to turn back. As the fight between Israel adesanya e Paulo borrachinha, valid for the middleweight belt (83,9kg), in UFC 253, which will take place on September 26th, is approaching, the trash talk between them it gets heavier. If, previously, the Brazilian had promised to kill his rival, this time, the category champion was not far behind. To the North American website Submission Radio, Adesanya accused the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of not testing the challenger, placing the blame on Brazil's current situation.

“Paulo couldn’t tell me when was the last time he was tested. I've been tested twice in the last three weeks, at night, because they're trying to catch me off guard. Where is his t-shirt (given by USADA to athletes after 25 consecutive clean tests)? I've been tested more than 30 times, but where is his? I'm from Lagos, Nigeria, so I know what it's like to be in some countries where money talks the loudest. When you show your gun, people act a certain way. You've heard stories about Brazil. People go to gyms to take tests and they don't comply because of certain things. I'm not bothered. I just like to bring this up because I want everyone to know. I already said I'll get it before USADA. I will win, and when USADA catches him in the future, I will have beaten him with steroids. It will be a great story,” Adesanya said.

'The Last Stylebender' revealed that he would have liked to have gone on a world tour to promote the duel, because he considers 'Borrachinha' easy to anger, but doesn't think he has the courage to do anything personally. If he tries, he threatens his opponent.

“I was being interviewed by a reporter and I kept staring at Paulo, who was going to be interviewed by the same reporter. We were close, but he didn't look at me, but at the wall. He avoided me because he knew who I was. He likes to act tough when there are people and cameras around, but if we run to take the same elevator, he'll take another one or do nothing. He knows when to cause. I'm in Paulo's head. I wish this fight had happened before the pandemic, because we would have a world tour, press conferences and I could see him in person and tease him. He gets angry easily. Cutting weight will likely leave you without energy. He will be tired and dry to the bone. I bet he'll be quiet or say something and shut up, but if we meet, I don't care. If Paulo wants to fight, we can fight. My team, my gang is with me. If you try something stupid, with the white guy with glasses (Eric Albarracin) and the king of shame (Henry Cejudo), my gang will be ready. One against the other, but I still prefer to finish him in the Octagon”, he concluded.
