Former UFC fighter arrested in the United States

Retired since 2016, Jason Miller once again made his presence known on the police pages

Jason Miller has been involved in yet another major controversy. At 39 years old, the former UFC and Strikeforce fighter was arrested after committing several crimes this Tuesday (25) and is in custody in a prison in Newport Beach, California, and is currently without bail. As per the report, 'Mayhem' was charged with first-degree robbery, unlawful taking of a vehicle, and carjacking while on probation in a domestic violence case. He pleaded not guilty at a pretrial hearing scheduled for September 2.

What happened is nothing new. On the contrary, it was just another case in a long list. In July 2019, the American pleaded guilty to vandalism, misdemeanor violation of a stay-away protective order and was sentenced to one year in prison and placed on three years' probation. According to court records, Miller broke a marble table in his girlfriend's home, while also drilling holes in her wall, removing doors in the house and derailing her garage door.

In September, Miller spoke out, apologizing for his behavior.

“It goes without saying that I acted like a crazy person for a long time in my life after fighting and I cannot make excuses for my behavior. I wasn't in the right mind for long, as evidenced by my constant war with the law, destruction of public property, domestic disturbances, and truancy, but I was caught and forced to take a long look in the mirror. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone I have negatively affected during these dark times, including friends, family, law enforcement. I'm so sorry.” Miller wrote in his Facebook.

In 2017, Miller pleaded guilty to a single count of domestic violence while receiving a four-year suspended sentence and three years of probation for incidents with three different girlfriends between 2015 and 2017.

Another serious incident happened in 2014, when he was involved in a five-hour standoff with a SWAT team outside his home while he was updating his Facebook account. Twitter, even with the police arriving to serve a warrant for “alleged persecution at home”.

Jason Miller retired in 2016 and his last fight was against Mattia Schiavolin, at Venator FC. The North American had some standout moments in MMA, such as being a coach on the 14th season of TUF (The Ultimate Fighter), alongside Michael Bisping and having disputed the Strikeforce and Dream middleweight belts (83,9kg), respectively, against Jake Shields and Ronaldo 'Jacaré'.
