Russia will be the next stage for UFC Fight Night, which takes place this Saturday (20). The protagonists of the night will be the Dutchman, Alistair Overeen, and the Russian-Ukrainian, Aleksei Oleinik. The clash will be held in the heavyweight category (up to 120kg) and is scheduled as the main fight on the card.

Filled with European fighters, two Brazilians represent Latin America at the event. Marcelo Golm, 26 years old from São Paulo, faces the Russian Sergei Pavlovich in the fourth fight of the main card. Alex da Silva, 'Leko', in turn, will debut in the organization in the clash against Alexander Yakovlev in the fourth duel on the preliminary card.
Alistair Overeem x Aleksei Oleinik
The main fight of UFC Saint Petersburg promises to make spectators' hearts race. On one side, an MMA legend, former Strikeforce champion and stand-up specialist, Overeem; on the other, an athlete well known for fighting on the ground, as well as a characteristic submission, Oleinik.
The two athletes, despite having similar sizes, have completely different playing styles, which can increase the temperature of the fight, considering that both will try to put their specialty on the line during the duel.
The Dutchman currently occupies seventh place in the heavyweight division, while the Russian-Ukrainian is in eighth place.
Both are coming off victories in their last fights. Alistair, in his last engagement, defeated Sergei Pavlovich by knockout in November last year, in China.
Oleinik celebrates a sequence of two victories: against Brazilian Júnior Albini, by submission, and the last against the legendary Mark Hunt. Both fights took place in 2018.
Marcelo Golm x Sergei Pavlovich
Brazilian Marcelo Golm seeks to frustrate the fans and defeat the Russian Sergei Pavlovich in their duel on the main card at heavyweight. Golm arrived in the UFC in 2017, with an undefeated record, and debuted with victory. The fighter, however, has suffered defeat on two occasions since signing with the company.
In this Saturday's fight, Marcelo will try to find his way back to victory by facing one of Russia's promises. Pavlovich only performed once in the UFC, when, in his debut, he was knocked out by Overeem. Sergei, like the Brazilian, is looking for the trump card to get back on his feet in the organization.
Alex da Silva x Alexander Yakovlev
Alex Leko makes his UFC debut against the Russian Alexander Yakovlev working in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg.). The Brazilian arrives at Ultimate with a record of 21 fights and an impressive 20 victories. Leko was hired to replace Teemu Packalen, who was injured during training.
However, the clash could be dangerous for the Brazilian fighter, as his opponent has a negative record in the company. In six fights for the UFC, Yakovlev won only two, losing on the other four occasions.
A defeat could signal the Russian's resignation.
