Brazilian Vinny Pezão announced this Tuesday that he will not participate in the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in 2012. The current champion of the ADCC – Main submission competition in the world – stated that he gave up the competition to become a coach. This is because Pezão was invited to be the jiu-jitsu coach of Chael Sonnen in the long-awaited rematch against Anderson Silva. The announcement was made by the black belt himself through his Twitter account.

“Forget my last post about competing (the World Cup). Instead, I'm going to Oregon to help the UFC middleweight champion prepare for his title fight in Brazil,” Vinny wrote, calling Sonnen a champion.
