The campaign for the continuity of the under-57kg category in Ultimate gained a weight boost. Through his social networks, the lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov praised the performance of Henry Cejudo at UFC Brooklyn and asked Dana White to consider the possibility of maintaining the flyweight division in Ultimate.

Cejudo knocked out TJ Dillashaw at UFC Brooklyn and retained the flyweight belt. The victory guaranteed the continuity of the division and the temporary employment of 25 fighters. Even so, the organization's commander did not guarantee the category's permanence in Ultimate.
