Ultimate plans Borrachinha x Romero for UFC Miami main fight

Ultimate works to confirm the new date for the fight between Paulo borrachinha e Yoel romero. The duel between middleweights should be the main fight of UFC Miami, on April 27th. The event marks the franchise’s return to the city after 16 years. The information was given first-hand on the Combate channel website, but the organization has not yet made the confrontation official.

The duel between middleweights was scheduled and canceled on two occasions. The duel was scheduled for UFC 230, on November 3, but Romero asked for more time to recover from a fractured orbital bone. As a result, the fight was rescheduled for UFC Brooklyn, but Borrachinha suffered a biceps injury and was removed from the fight.

At 27 years old, Borrachinha occupies seventh place in the middleweight rankings. Paulo tried to enter Ultimate through TUF Brasil 3, but didn't make it past the first round. After victories in national events, the Minas Gerais native debuted in the franchise in March 2017. Since then, he has recorded four consecutive victories, all by knockout. The fighter has a record of 12 fights and no defeats as a professional.

Yoel romero He is in first place in the category ranking and is looking for a victory to be able to challenge for the belt again. In his last appearance, the Cuban lost in a split decision from the judges to Robert whittaker at UFC 225, in June 2018. At 41 years old, 'Soldier of God' has 16 fights in his career with 13 wins and three losses.
