Henry Cejudo and TJ Dillashaw have a superfight for the UFC Brooklyn flyweight belt

Ultimate opens the 2019 calendar in style. UFC Brooklyn hosts its first edition of the year with a super fight of champions. In the main fight of the attraction, TJ Dillashaw, owner of the bantamweight belt, moves down the flyweight category to challenge the champion Henry Cejudo. In the co-main event, former American football player, Greg hardy makes his franchise debut against Allen Crowder.

The main fight

The main fight will feature the bantamweight and flyweight champions, TJ Dillashaw e Henry Cejudo competing for the belt in the under-57kg category. This will be the fourth superfight held in Ultimate and the first in 2019. A victory for 'Viper' over his opponent could spell the end of the division in Ultimate.

What's new about the event is that the winner of the superfight will be the first champion to receive the new Ultimate belt, called 'Legacy'. It will have your name and the flag of your country of origin on the belt.

TJ Dillashaw comes from a sequence of four victories. The bantamweight champion defeated Raphael Assunção, John Lineker and cody garbrandt on two occasions. His last setback was in January 2016 when he was overcome by Dominick Cruz.

Henry Cejudo comes from three consecutive victories over Wilson reis, Sergio Pettis and Demetrious Johnson. The Olympic medalist beat 'Mighty Mouse' in August this year, ending his run of 11 belt defenses and winning the category title.

The Brazilian trio

The first fighter from Brazil to step into the Octagon in New York is newcomer Vinicius Mamute. The Brazilian will measure strength with Alonzo Menifield for the light heavyweights on the preliminary card. The fighter from Brasilia was discovered by Ultimate in the Contender Series Brasil in 2018. He has a record of 10 fights with nine triumphs and one setback in his career.

Ariane Lipski será a segunda brasileira a se apresentar no UFC Brooklyn. A ‘Rainha da Violência’ fará sua estreia no Ultimate contra Joanne calderwood in women's flyweight. She is a former KSW (Polish MMA league) champion and has not lost since March 2015. Her last commitment was in March 2015, when she won Silvana Gomez Juarez in March last year.

Ending Brazil's participation, Glover Teixeira to stare Karl Robertson in the first fight on the main card. The veteran is ranked 12th in the light heavyweight category. In his last match, the Brazilian lost to Corey anderson in July 2018. He has 34 fights in his career, with 27 triumphs and seven setbacks.
