Strikeforce announced the signing, this Tuesday, of the American fighter Nate marquardt. The information was confirmed by Dana White on the UFC Tonight program, shown on FUEL TV in the USA.
Marquardt was fired the day before his fight against Rick Story at UFC Live 4 in June. At the time, the athlete was denied a license to fight by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission, which did not accept the fighter's hormonal levels. Dana was so angered by the situation that he promised at the time that Nate would never fight in the UFC again.
A month after being cut by Dana White himself, Marquardt closed with the British event BAMMA. The English's intention was to explore a title fight against former UFC fighter Paul Daley, but the American never made his debut at BAMMA.
Nate Marquardt has a record of 31 wins, 10 losses and 2 draws, with a 10-4 record in his six years in the UFC. The 32-year-old welterweight had not fought since March 2011, when he won Dan Miller at UFC 128.
