Exam shows cerebral edema in Satoshi Ishii after defeat to Fedor

On the last day of 2011, the Russian legend Fedor Emelianenko achieved his second victory in a row after a negative series of three fights. Fedor knocked out the Japanese Satoshi Ishii in the first round No. DREAM Fight For Japan: Genki Desu Ka Omisoka 2011. In addition to the defeat, the event left another, much more serious mark on Ishii.

According to the Japanese weekly publication Cyzo, doctors who examined Ishii after the fight detected that the athlete suffered cerebral edema. Also according to Cyzo, doctors warned of the dangers that future blows to the head could cause to the Japanese fighter, advising him to end his career. Despite this, the athlete's life is not at risk.

Since when is a drug like that a sport? This should have a label like cigarette packs!
It is worrying that such a savage thing is widespread in countries where people are so poorly educated that they will use force and violence to resolve their internal conflicts!

      Mr. Irineu,

Do not worry. A fighter would only resolve their conflicts based on force and violence if they were intellectually unprepared and prejudiced like you.

Luckily for MMA, they are upstanding athletes.

      Strong hug!

If they removed this rule that it's worth punching a guy's head on the ground, even if he's passed out, it would be much better for MMA, because hitting a guy's head when he's passed out on the ground is a coward's thing.
It wasn't the case with the Russian there, but you see it straight away, the guy massacring the other on the ground.

It was never a sport, and it never will be…
It’s nothing more than the cultural industrialization of martial arts…(adornment)... And in Brazil, we can compare it with the law banning alcoholic drinks in stadiums….
It is prohibited to sell it in stadiums, as some do not know how to use it…
I see MMA in the same way, it encourages many, but only teaches a few…
the bread and circus policy continues, “heroes” of the BBB… Bolsa Familia and the MMA gladiators….

Martial arts teach a lot and save lives. If there are idiots (as in every part of society), it's not the martial arts' fault.

Things that Brazil could eliminate: bread and circuses politics, BBB heroes and individuals like you.

      Strong hug!

I'm outraged by these ignorant comments, if you don't like the sport, keep quiet.

And cerebral edema is something very relative, a good hit in a football game can cause a degree of edema, any sport can, any daily activity has its risk.

So far, no one has died because of a UFC fight (in clandestine tournaments probably already), and several sports present a much higher risk.

I would like to ask just one question to the 4 idiots who made these comments above, you gentlemen care so much about the health of your neighbors, why don't you go and make comments like these in the political section which leaves many more people in poor health in Brazil. Nobody forces you to watch or practice any of the fights in question, so stop being hypocrites and take care of your own because the fighters and those who want to practice take care of theirs, bunch of idle people.

Hello, I didn't want to offend anyone but rather to clarify the facts, sports that I know of don't have physical risks are chess and video games, well what can cause health complications due to lack of physical activity hehe. Well, I've been practicing MMA for 3 years and I'm diabetic and this helps me control my diabetes. Before this I played ball sports such as football (which caused me problems with scoliosis and strain injuries) and basketball (torn ankle ligament). In MMA I've had at most minor scratches and bruises and I've already competed and participated as sparring partners for my friends who are already professionals. Draw your own conclusions.

First, MMA cannot be considered a sport. Sport integrates, educates, entertains, etc., and MMA fights bring the fight to the surface; Therefore, it is not a sport, nor is professional football, because the fans kill each other. MMA is a fighting tournament in which fighters get there because they want to, they know the risks and they are prepared for it. I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't practice it, I don't advise anyone to do it, but those who do it know the risks.
What has to be prohibited is horse racing, rodeo, animals in circuses, bullfights, bull riding, trapped animals, etc. These people don't know why they suffer or gain from it.

Irineu, I'm a physical educator and I'm going to speak very clearly and knowledgeably about the sport in question, you referred to MMA as a violent sport with excessive force, ok, that's martial arts, I'd like to know what you consider a sport, here can be a definition, sport is any and all activity and/or game governed by a regulation and/or rules that can give a path to the activity, it can also have confederations or an association that implements the rules by administering the activity, therefore At no point do we talk about the risks, which exist in any sport, if we analyze it we have already had deaths in football, boxing, Formula 1 among others, in short, I bet that a citizen like you likes to watch F1, football, and you know more what is not vdd? What's the difference between a violent tackle in football and a kick in MMA? nothing...people like you are an affront to sport and its evolution in the world, you are an alienated citizen who eats shit if the government asks you to, find out about sport, see its history, study what can be considered sport and the risks in any of them, then comment with certainty……play chess and be happy man….MMA has been fighting for more than 25 years to become a sport and today it finally succeeded thanks to intelligent and respected people, you being a very different guy from that ……and in relation to 'jota” who commented on the commercialization of martial arts, do you help karate to grow or taekwondo? Do you watch these martial arts on TV? Drinks in stadiums shouldn't be sold either, after all, drunk people should go to the bar and there isn't a sports presentation, everything I said here is for you too... go study, go research, then say something ok...
