Number 4 in the bantamweight ranking and with three consecutive victories, including two brutal knockouts in the most recent fights, Marlon moraes emerged as a big favorite for the position of challenger to TJ Dillashaw, category champion. The problem, for the Brazilian, is that the organization is planning to marry TJ in a super fight against Henry Cejudo, current holder of the flyweight belt. Not happy with the decision, Marlon took advantage of the moment to poke at the bantamweight number 1, saying that his rival is avoiding him because he wants an 'easy' fight.

“I feel like Dillashaw doesn’t want to test himself. He wants to fight so he can win. I think if he fights Cejudo, it will be an easier match for him. This is a no-risk fight. What is Cejudo going to do with him? Cejudo will take him down, but he will get back up. He has much better striking than Cejudo. I don't think (this fight) makes sense. I respect superfights, but when it makes sense. And I don't think that's the case. We have a lot of challengers in my division”, declared the fighter, in an interview with the American website 'MMA Fighting'.

In an attempt to get a fight against Dillashaw, Marlon even cited his achievements in other organizations, recalling the fact that he was bantamweight champion of the extinct WSOF (World Series of Fighting) organization, which became the PFL (Professional Fighters League). According to the Brazilian, he is still the 'moral champion' of his former home.

“If Dillashaw wants to have two belts, fight me. I'm still champion. I still carry the championship belt. I'm still the World Series of Fighting champion. Does he want big fights, does he want to fight champions? I'm also a big struggle. I'm a risky fight. He knows. If I don't get (the belt) now, I'll continue and one day I'll win it”, he concluded.
